Glossier has hired two new staffers that will help it integrate into Sephora as well as L’Oreal USA has a new president for its Maybelline, Garnier, and Essie brands.
Glossier has hired two new employees to assist the brand’s move into Sephora, and L’Oreal USA has a new president for its Maybelline New York, Garnier, and Essie brands. L’Oreal USA has tapped Amy Whang as its new president of the Maybelline New York, Garnier, and Essie brands. A L’Oreal veteran who previously was the general manager of I.T. Cosmetics, Whang succeeds Alanna McDonald. She will also be a part of the company’s management team.
Juliana Pereira joined A.I., and A.R. beauty technology company Revive as a chief marketing officer. Pereira has previously worked with Flow, Smartling, and Ralph Lauren and now joins Revieve; since the firm has collaborated with retailers and brands such as Shiseido, Living Proof, and Walgreens and continues to strengthen the strength of its U.S. presence.
As Glossier prepares for its launch in 2023 at Sephora, which will be the first retailer partner for the brand until now — it has named Cayla Bergman Folz vice-president of wholesale. Bergman Folz was most recently vice head of global sales for Nest Fragrances, and before she headed The Estee Lauder Cos.’ Sephora and Ulta businesses. In Glossier, Kinta Gates has been appointed vice president of operations and supply chain. Gates replaces Edith Chen in the role she was previously the chief director of operations for supply chain in Thrive Causemetics. In the summer of 2018, Glossier laid off 24 employees. According to an internal memo circulated in August, it is in the process of adding a mere 20 more that include Gates and Bergman Folz. The changes are designed to aid Glossier’s new business model that provides for its planned Sephora launch, its recent launch of its store in the Williamsburg area in Brooklyn, New York, and the return of the SoHo flagship store in 2023.
Summer Fridays have elevated Blair Badge, the brand’s executive director of marketing, to vice president of marketing. The badge was hired by Summer Fridays in the year 2019 and, in her new role, will continue to work on and oversee the brand’s multichannel marketing strategy.
Summer Fridays added Kim Natale, the first president of the brand, after having served as the chief retail and marketing officer for the last two years. The position of president is Natale continues to link with Summer Fridays’ retail partners, including Sephora and Space N.K., and forge new expansions.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has appointed Dr. Steven Williams president. A former ASPS board member for over 15 years. Williams has most recently been the vice president for membership at the ASPS; his appointment is ASPS’s first African American president-elect of ASPS. Williams will officially take on the post in 2023.
Barbara De Laere is the new chief executive officer of Saje Natural Wellness. A former Estee Lauder, along with L’Oreal alums, De Laere was most recently the global brand president for Aveda. In her new post at the brand owned by Catterton, De Laere will lead Saje’s expansion all across North America.
David Goubert has joined Ayr Wellness as its president. He was previously the chief customer officer of Neiman Marcus Group Goubert is now focused on managing the company’s cannabis business towards economic growth that is sustainable and profitable. He will report to Ayr Wellness’ founder and CEO, Jonathan Sandelman.
Lumene has appointed Dr. Alain Mavon its new vice president for research, development, and sustainability. In his new position, Mavon will spearhead new formulations, tests, regulations, and packaging for Lumene, a Finnish skincare brand.
